Twill cloth is divided into single-sided twill and double-sided twill. Warp and weft yarns are interlaced less frequently than plain weave, so that the space between warp and weft yarns is smaller, and the yarns can be arranged tightly, so that the fabric is denser, thicker, better luster, softer, and more elastic than plain weave. Under the same conditions of yarn density and thickness, its abrasion resistance and fastness are not as good as plain weave fabrics.
advantage:
1. Good moisture absorption, soft hand feel, hygienic and comfortable to wear;
2. Keep warm easily, wear comfortable and decently;
3. Soft and close-fitting, good moisture absorption and breathability.
Disadvantages:
1. The appearance is not very stiff and beautiful, and must be ironed frequently when wearing;
2. Easy to shrink and wrinkle, relatively poor shrinkage resistance;
3. Soft and close-fitting, good moisture absorption and breathability.
Twill fabrics can be divided into two types: coarse twill and fine twill.
Denim fabrics use cotton yarns above No. 32 (below 18 inches) as warp and weft yarns; fine twill uses cotton yarns below No. 18 (above 32 inches) as warp and weft yarns. Twill fabrics are available in natural white, bleached, and variegated colors. They are often used as linings for uniforms, sportswear, and sports shoes, as well as emery cloth backing and cushioning materials. The wide-width bleached twill fabric can be used as a sheet, or as a bed sheet after printing. The primary color and variegated fine twill fabric has a bright surface after electro-optical or calendering, which can be used as umbrella surface and clothing folder.
The weave points of the twill weave are continuous and diagonal. There are three warp and weft lines in a complete weave, which can be expressed in the form of fractions. For example, 1/2↗right twill, which can be read as one upper, two lower right twill or three Right twill. Among them, the numerator represents the number of warp or weft points in a complete organization, and the denominator represents the number of weft points in a complete organization. The sum of the numerator and denominator represents a complete organization. The number of warp and weft threads, referred to as the number of pieces. ↗ means the grain is diagonally to the right, ↖ refers to the diagonal of the grain to the left. Twill weave has less warp and weft than plain weave, so it is not as firm as plain weave fabric, but twill weave fabric has a soft and smooth feel.
